formula overview
$11.99 –
The formula is said to have a “strong color impact” with a “lustrous, high-shine finish” and has the “lasting durability” of a lip stain. When they’re good, they’re good: pigmented, high-gloss, and comfortable to wear without being too sticky and not prone to bleeding.
It was very similar to YSL’s Glossy Stains and I had similar problems applying some of the lighter shades from the YSL range as this one. One of the issues was that the tinting strength of the formula really affected even the lighter pigments, resulting in an uneven look – like I’d applied a milky gloss over a lip stain.
They had a smooth, light consistency that was spreadable as it was initially thin and more watery, and as it “cured” it developed a thicker, almost gel-like feel that was still light and comfortable to wear, but with a slight stickiness helped hold it in place over time.
These left strong, reddish stains (they hardly varied, just warmer/cooler reds) after they subsided, which took about five to six hours in total.
They had a powdery, floral scent but no discernible taste.
