John Goodman, 70, flaunts his incredible 200-pound weight loss on the red carpet at the Monte Carlo TV Festival
In 2007, he vowed to change his lifestyle and lose weight.
And John Goodman proved he was sticking to his plan as he flaunted his slim figure at the 62nd Monte Carlo TV Festival in Monaco on Sunday.
The 70-year-old actor, who has lost 200 pounds over the years, looked incredible as he posed on the festival’s red carpet, where he served as jury president.
Commenting on the decision to appoint him, festival organizer Laurent Puons said: “John Goodman is, frankly, a legend,” says Puons. “My grandson loves him, my mother loves him and I love him.
“He crossed generations with a phenomenal film career and a phenomenal television career.” He’s done it all, played every role. If he weren’t the chairman of the jury, we would be giving him our lifetime achievement award.”

John looked dapper on the red carpet as he wore a fitted suit jacket which he paired with beige trousers and a patterned yellow tie.
The Rosanne star began his journey in 2007 when he quit drinking, but his trainer then took him to a new level of weight loss and fitness.
According to his trainer, he introduced the star to a “Mediterranean eating plan” that focuses on fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruits.
John also exercises six days a week, making sure to walk 10,000 to 12,000 steps daily and using an elliptical bike and treadmill.
The actor has always been open about his love of food, telling People in the past, “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your butt and figure out what you’re going to eat next.”
In 2016, John told Howard Stern, “I took it slow.” “I just wanted to change my lifestyle,” and admitted of his new way of life, “It’s an ongoing process for the rest of my life.”
“You look in the mirror every day and think, ‘I have to take care of this for the rest of the day, I have to take care of this idiot?'”
The following year, he told ABC about his weight loss: “I used to take a three-month break, lose 60 or 70 pounds, then treat myself to a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.”

“This time I wanted to take it slow.” Move, exercise. “I’m getting to an age where I can’t afford to sit still.”
As part of his lifestyle makeover, the actor gave up alcohol, telling AARP in 2018, “It was basically just portion control and ‘I don’t need it.’ ‘I just put everything in my mouth.’
Discussing his alcohol addiction, John told Rolling Stone magazine, “All this anger was fueled by fear, and the drinking was for fun.”
“But I was probably born an alcoholic. But most of the anger is gone. When I’m not watching the news, I’m cool.’
